The air-supported structure is a dome made of an airtight membrane. Such a structure does not have a frame and is brought into working condition by constant pressurization inside.
The shell is a fabric based on reinforced PVC, this gives the dome rigidity and stability, and also reduces power consumption due to small air leakage.
Mobile air-supported structures favorably differ from many other inflatable tents and structures by several important parameters, such as:
- the possibility of creating an arbitrary form of construction,
- smooth surface of the structure – no ribs and screeds,
- useful area up to 95% of the sheltered,
- the possibility of long-term continuous operation.
The shell, depending on the color, has a light transmission of up to 40% of sunlight, which reduces the cost of daylight.
There are locks which were designed to move through the shell of the air- supported structure of people and equipment without loss of pressure. The most convenient gateway for people which have high throughput is the revolving door.
